I am also considering just adding a 3rd sata hard drive, to dedicate completely to a Vista 64 bit install and all programs and data for it. I have held off on Vista,

vista ultimate x64 install
If your mobo has onboard video, try removing the 8800gt and installing without it. Try removing the second hard drive. Turn off the SLI functions in your BIOS. but I have already installed Vista. I installed it, by booting from the Vista DVD, selecting the new hard drive, formatted it from there, with the Vista dvd you will get variation of the drive lettering (no real problem) and will have the boot menu after you install Vista on the second drive or partition.
